Today, I absolutely want to eat miso ramen.

The Great Miso Ramen Search Near Matsudo Station

‘Today, I must have miso ramen!’

In the fierce battleground for ramen excellence, when you think of delicious ramen in Matsudo, where should you go?

Starting with Tomita and Tonikaku, famous stores crowd the area in front of the station, but quite often, I find myself thinking, ‘Today, it has to be miso.’

Matsudo Station, used by 150,000 people a day, someone must be searching:

‘Matsudo Station Miso Ramen’

You’ll likely find these two options:

The west exit: ‘Hokkaido Ramen Himuro’

The east exit: ‘Satsuhoro’

These are the two shops!

Strictly speaking, there are other places that serve miso ramen, but I guarantee the quality of these shops.

Huh? Which one to choose?

Both are delicious, don’t worry.

Hokkaido Ramen Himuro Matsudo vs. Hokkaido Ramen Satsuhoro

Himuro – The old miso ramen shop just off the west exit

‘Hokkaido Ramen Himuro’ is located right near the west exit of Matsudo Station.

This established shop has survived the fierce ramen competition in Matsudo.

Despite being a chain, it has been loved for many years for its local flavors and service.

After all, it’s been around since about 18 years ago (?), when I was studying at the Kawai Juku prep school nearby.

Their signature dish, ‘Sapporo Miso Ramen,’ is characterized by its rich soup flavored with garlic and sesame.

The combination with the yellow, medium-thick curly noodles is perfect for wrapping up a drinking party, and as a miso ramen lover, I frequently visit.

(Open until 3:30 am…!!)

Satsuhoro – Bringing a new breeze of ramen to the east exit

On the other hand, ‘Satsuhoro.’

Located at the east exit of Matsudo Station, it’s about a 3-minute walk, very accessible.

Originally located near Kita-Senju on the Chiyoda Line, it’s a familiar place for the locals.

Since opening in front of Matsudo Station in 2021, it has brought a new flavor to the area.

The miso soup is light and characterized by its rich yet refreshing aftertaste.

While Himuro’s noodles are smooth and chewy, Satsuhoro’s are even more so.

In fact, I was quite shocked when the miso ramen shop ‘Soiya,’ which used to be in this location, disappeared.

But ‘Satsuhoro’ fills my heart (and I can eat it without going to Kita-Senju!)

It offers a satisfying feeling without being too heavy after a drinking party.

Ramen that captivates at both exits of Matsudo Station

Himuro is at the west exit, and Satsuhoro is at the east exit, both offering easy access from their respective station exits.

If possible, try visiting both. I guarantee their taste
